Methodology - Storm Drain Catch Basin Cleaning

Although we are not currently a traditional vactor truck service provider, we have the ability of repurposing our pressure washing equipment and waste water capture equipment to clean out catch basins. We often like to clean these out in support of our normal environmentally friendly pressure washing ops. Using either one of our low profile vacuum trailers, or our heavier vacuum/pump truck we simply extend a vacuum hose of varying diameters down into the catch basin, or a long extension lance of equal diameter to suck out the liquid contents of the holding area. Once we reach the settled and or compacted solids sitting on the bottom, we proceed to break up and liquify them with the supporting pressure washing truck or pressure washing equipment so that it can move freely through the vacuum hose. Sometimes we flip on the burners of the hot water capable machines, and even incorporate a GreenSeal certified degreaser if there was an oil or fuel spill affecting the basin. This ensures that the structure is entirely free and cleaned of petrol-chemical contaminants, before receiving a fresh prime by new incoming storm water flow.

After the work onsite is complete, the customer (if present) will receive a transport bill of lading listing the certified disposal facility where the captured liquids and solids will be offloaded for decant & disposal. This bill of lading also serves as a record of the actual disposal volumes against our pre-submitted bid requested by the customer before work. The vacuum truck or vacuum trailer will either deploy to the next job or head directly to the disposal facility or our shop location if the disposal facility is closed, for a disposal run the following day…
